Organise a Lunch Out Loud and invite family, friends or colleagues along to talk 'Out Loud' about the joys and challenges of parenthood.
Lunch Out Loud is PANDA’s initiative to raise awareness and funds for the ongoing support and education of the community about perinatal anxiety and depression.
Five easy steps to hosting your Lunch Out Loud
1. Set the date: while Lunch Out Loud can coincide with Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week, you can hold your event at any time of the year. And despite the name, it doesn’t have to be a lunch. It can be: a picnic, barbecue or a morning tea a formal dinner or a large scale banquet or any gathering involving food, drink, laughter and fun.
2. Invite guests: invite as many guests as your venue can handle, whether at home, in a restaurant or café, in the park or at work. Download invitation >
3. Use social media: Facebook is a great way to promote and plan your Lunch Out Loud. Set up an Event page, invite your guests and keep them updated in the lead up. Use our special hashtags #LunchOutLoud #bePNDAaware
4. Collect donations: you can accept cash donations, hold a raffle, charge an entry donation, hold a bake sale, or ask people to donate directly to PANDA on the day by printing out Credit Card Donation Form. 5. Please transfer your funds to PANDA via ourLunch Out Loud Donation Form.
Most importantly, have fun! At PANDA we hear every day that parenting can be tough. But friendship, laughter and shared experience are a great first step in this unique journey.
PANDA Resources: PANDA also has a range of resources including brochures, factsheets and postcards that you may want to distribute at your event. PANDA provides these free of charge.
Do I have to register my event? There is no formal registration process for organising an event. However, if you are fundriasing for PANDA at your Lunch Out Loud you are required to fill out a Fundraising Agreement Form.
How do I let people know I'm organising a lunch? An easy way to share your event is through social media. Create an event page on facebook and invite you friends to attend! You could also create posters or flyers and share them around the community.
