Tragically, sometimes perinatal anxiety and depression takes lives. That is what happened in the case of Louise Litis, who left this world prematurely in 2007 after struggling with postnatal depression.
Louise’s family and her husband Dean helped find something positive in this tragedy by becoming involved in PANDA’s Annual Lunch, held each subsequent year in memory of Louise. Dean and other members of his and Louise’s families generously embraced the concept, bravely speaking out about their loss and helping to raise awareness about the potential devastating impact of perinatal anxiety and depression.
