National Volunteer Week 2026 recognises volunteer contributions across the country. It invites individuals to discover how their time and skills create connection, purpose and stronger communities.

2026 is also the United Nations International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026), recognising the vital role volunteers play in building sustainable, inclusive communities worldwide.

PANDA is proud to launch our 5th Volunteer Impact Report, spanning the January to December 2025 period. This report weaves together the achievements and contributions of PANDA volunteers, so we can celebrate their impact throughout 2025.

“To all PANDA volunteers, we thank you. Your contribution is founded in connection, compassion, and hope. Through your bravery and shared lived experience we are able to create stronger communities together.”

Julie Borninkhof, PANDA CEO

At PANDA,volunteers are the heart of what we do. They connect us with community, sharing PANDA’s vision and resources.

Our volunteers reflect our values, being:

COLLABORATIVE. We work in partnership with our lived experience volunteers, community and funders and we listen and respect differences and strengths; so we can all thrive.

EFFECTIVE. Through our volunteer community, we focus on value and impact to ensure everything we do benefits the community

BRAVE. We provide platforms for stories to be courageously told, and together with our lived experience volunteers we ensure these stories raise awareness, break down stigma and create change.

In 2025, there were:

  • 227 Community Volunteers
  • 298 Practice Volunteers
  • 3 Peer Support Volunteers
  • 24 Governance Volunteers across board, committees and advisory groups
