"My first daughter, Sophie, was born 2.3kg, and they picked up early that my second daughter, Grace, was also developing slowly.
I was told she might be born with defects or she might not make it through birth at all if I had her naturally. They told me I would be lucky if she could stay inside me until 28 weeks and they were expecting her to not continue to grow after that.
So from 16 weeks I had ultrasounds twice a week and blood tests every week. It was a matter of going in for a scan and if they thought that Grace had stopped growing or there was something wrong I would be induced or have a caesarian that day. That was really hard to deal with. You can’t really prepare yourself for that. As much as you work yourself up to it and you try and be positive about it all, it kind of took over, it became an everyday worry."
