What to expect from this Checklist:

This Checklist will ask you about changes you have noticed since becoming an expectant parent: in your body and behaviour; in your thoughts and feelings; and in your relationships.

As you go through the Checklist, remember that these questions are about possible symptoms of antenatal anxiety and/or depression. None of them make you a bad parent. They simply indicate that you may be experiencing a common, treatable illness. And we know that the earlier you get help, the more likely you are to recover quickly.

This Checklist will not give you a diagnosis. Only a health professional can provide this. But completing the checklist will help you to better understand what you are experiencing, and assist you to get help if needed.

Note: Complete this Checklist if you are concerned about your own mental health. There is also a different Checklist for those concerned about a partner or loved one. In some families, birth and non-birth parents might experience difficulties. Everyone deserves to have the support they need on their parenthood journey.
