The mental illness that affects one in 500 new mothers
Since March, PANDA has been striving to raise awareness about postnatal psychosis, a serious mental illness that affects one to two mums in every 1000. As part of our campaign, PANDA Community Champions Gabrielle and Asta bravely shared their experiences of living with postnatal psychosis with Fairfax’s Good Weekend magazine. Their stories are harrowing, but also show that it's possible to “punch a hole in the invisible membrane that separates everyday life from unimaginable horror, and live to tell the tale in order to help others”. Well done Asta and Gabrielle!
