Our Service Directory
For many years PANDA has maintained a database of Victorian services that provide support and treatment to women and men with perinatal depression and their families, the Perinatal Depression Services Database as a part of Helpline activities. During this time many women, men and their families have been supported to access these services that have been vital to their recovery from perinatal depression and anxiety.
In 2009 PANDA was funded by the Victorian and Federal Governments as part of the National Perinatal Depression Initiative to build the online
Victorian Perinatal Depression Services Directory. This project has brought together the existing service listings and resources for perinatal depression within Victoria into a central directory available to Health Professionals through the PANDA website. About our National Perinatal Depression Services Database:
PANDA subscribes to the Infocom (services directory) software that provides access to listings of thousands of community, health and support services around Victoria and some interstate services. This is updated regularly by the software company Datascape. The National Perinatal Depression Services Database is a custom made directory within the Infocom software that contains entries of services that are known to specifically have skills in and work in the field of perinatal depression. These additional listings of specialised services are created and maintained by PANDA. With the expansion of PANDA's Helpline to nationwide access, the database is currently being expanded to include services for all Australian States. If you are interested in being listed as a service on our National Perinatal Depression Services Database please read the information and related form given below. Any questions regarding the database can be forwarded to the Database Manager using an online form here.
The categories within the Perinatal Depression Services Database:
The Database categories reflect PANDA's biopsychosocial model of perinatal depression and recovery, that is medical, psychological and social services. The biopsychosocial needs of people who call PANDA are assessed by staff and volunteers. All callers are then offered information and contact details for service options within their local area, especially if the caller is not accessing existing support services. Often support and follow up is provided to ensure that the caller has been able to access the services. Contact PANDA for details of services within your local area.
Categories of services:
- General Practitioners
- Psychiatrists
- Psychologists and Counsellors
- Perinatal Depression Support Groups

Criteria for entry to the Perinatal Depression Services Database:
Different services and workers must have had specific training or experience in working with women with antenatal or postnatal depression and their families to be able to be entered onto the Database. The service must also provide one or more of the specific service categories covered in the directory.
